Sample Consent Statement:

It may be beneficial to include sample consent statements in your course materials. A general statement in your syllabus can draw attention to the kinds of public assignments students will work on in the course, as well as highlight that students have the right to choose how they share their work. This statement may be modified or made more specific at the assignment level.

“This course includes opportunities to publish your work on public platforms. Participation in public sharing is voluntary. You may choose to complete an alternative assignment or publish anonymously. You will also have the option to select a license for your work or keep it private. Your grade will not be affected by your choice.”
