Open Pedagogy Toolkit: Module 5
Using Creative Commons Licenses
Creative Commons licenses are a way for a work’s creator to grant other users some rights to use, modify, and share that work. Review the Creative Commons Licenses on the Purdue OER research guide. There are six different licensing options to make materials more or less open for others to revise, reuse, and redistribute.
These six licenses allow students to choose how much freedom others will have with their works.
- CC BY: (Creator Credit)
- This allows you to use and adapt the work for any purpose as long as you give credit to the creator of the work.
