Registration now open for Purdue GIS Day 2026

Purdue Libraries and School of Information Studies invites all students, faculty, staff, industry professionals, and beyond to register for and attend Purdue GIS Day 2026: Cyber GIS & Geospatial Data Science on Thursday, November 12, 2026, starting at 8:00 AM in Stewart Center 214.

Register by October 25, 2026 to ensure your place in this year’s GIS conference, receive a free T-shirt, and attend the career panel lunch.

Keynote Speakers

We’re excited to welcome Dr. Shaowen Wang, professor and associate dean at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, as this year’s keynote speaker. Whether you’re just getting started or already immersed in the world of GIS, Purdue GIS Day offers a full day of discovery, learning, and connection.

Student Poster Competition

Poster proposals are due by October 15, 2026, and can be focused on any GIS-related topic. Please share this opportunity widely with students who may be interested.

A poster competition with cash prizes is open to both undergraduate and graduate students from all disciplines—from environmental science and engineering to political science, public health, and digital humanities. This is a great opportunity to present your GIS-related research, build your résumé, gain valuable experience, and network with GIS professionals and scholars

The competition also includes a Digital Humanities Award recognizing excellence in GIS-based humanities research. Students whose work integrates GIS with the humanities are especially encouraged to participate and compete for this special award.
