Open Access Publishing Partnerships

Open Access publishing leads to more discovery, more downloads, and more global access of your giant leaps in research. Since 2020, Libraries has negotiated several partnerships with major academic publishers, including Wiley, Cambridge University Press, the Public Library of Science (PLOS), and the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM). At Libraries, we see our open access partnerships with these major publishers as key to advancing equitable, sustainable publishing for Purdue authors and broadening access to their research.

Purdue authors who publish their research in journals included in these partnerships may now include an open access option for their articles, at no cost to them, and without incurring embargoes. Many of Purdue’s open access publishing partnerships have resulted from the collective bargaining of the Big Ten Academic Alliance’s consortium of academic research libraries, of which Purdue is an active member.
