A Celebration of Books is an event hosted by Purdue Libraries and School of Information Studies to recognize Purdue authors who have recently published books. The event honors the scholarly and creative efforts of authors across all disciplines and highlights the ongoing importance of books as a form of academic contribution and public engagement.

This event celebrates the significant time, thought, and dedication required to write and publish a book. It also fosters a sense of community among faculty, scholars, and campus partners who support and value long-form academic work.
Event Highlights
Each semester, faculty authors are invited to a celebratory reception featuring:
- Brief remarks from campus leaders
- Spotlights on selected Purdue authors
- Light refreshments and opportunities for conversation
- Displays of book covers for signing and recognition
