Advancing Open and Big-team Reprodcible Science
Nadia Saraí Corral-Frías, Ph.D | Associate Professor in Psychology | University of Sonora
Dr. Corral-Frías will be presenting “Advancing Open and Big-team Reproducible Science through Increased Representation (ABRIR): Barriers for researchers in the majority world and paths forward”.
Dr. Nadia Saraí Corral-Frías is an Associate Professor at the University of Sonora (Mexico). She completed her undergraduate degree with honors in psychology at Instituto de Estudios Superiores del Occidente. She went on to the University of Arizona and earned a degree in Neuroscience. She completed a postdoctoral fellowship (funded by the U.S. National Institutes of Health) at Washington University in St. Louis studying the neurogenetics of stress-related psychiatric disorders. Her cross-species research investigating the biopsychosocial risk and protective factors of stress-related psychopathology has been published in well-regarded journals. She is the Assistant Director in the Psychological Science Accelerator (PSA), founder of Advancing Big-team Reproducible science through Increased Representation (ABRIR), co-chair of the MDD workgroup of the Latin American Genomics Consortium (LAGC) and a faculty advisor of the first Mexican PsiChi Chapter. Registered Reports are the Future of Science
Gilad Feldman, Ph.D. | Assistant Professor in Psychology | University of Hong Kong
Gilad Feldman, Ph.D., Assistant Professor in Psychology at the University of Hong Kong, will share his insights into Peer Community in Registered Reports (PCIRR)—a new review initiative launched in 2021 that builds on Registered Reports. Dr. Feldman will share his experience with Registered Reports, PCIRR, and embedding PCIRR in the UG/MSc thesis process and in courses. This is part of a large-scale replications and extensions project of over 120 classic studies in judgment and decision-making and social psychology.
Dr. Feldman’s work is in the areas of social psychology and judgment and decision-making and his research focuses on the topics of biases and heuristics, especially regarding agency and action. In recent years, following signs regarding the need for a science reform, Dr. Feldman has taken a special interest in the movement for improvement of psychological science to implement and promote open-science and meta-research.
