GIS Day 2014 Highschool Program

2014 Purdue GIS Day for Grades 6-12

Thursday, November 6 Discovery Learning Research Center Purdue University, West Lafayette, Indiana

This annual event promotes an educational framework that works to enrich spatial learning and data engagement between post-secondary education and grades 6-12.  This year’s program will be hosted at the Purdue’s Discovery Learning Research Center.

8:00 AM               Welcome and overview 

8:30 AM               Zombie Apocalypse planning activity (Group A)     Earth cache data collecting activity (Group B)

10:00 AM             Break and rotate stations

10:15 AM             Zombie Apocalypse planning activity (Group B)     Earth cache data collecting activity (Group A)

11:45 AM             Lunch (Pizza in the commons area of DLRC)

12:15 PM             Walk as group to the Black/Gold fields

12:30 PM             Balloon discussion and Launch

1:30 PM                Post testing and day wrap up

2:00 PM                Depart
