Career Lunch Registration

Career lunch on Purdue GIS Day provides opportunities for students to learn about GIS careers. We will invite guests from government agencies, private sectors, research labs, non-profit organizations, etc. to talk about GIS projects at work, important GIS skills to develop for job market, and possible GIS career opportunities. You will have opportunity to ask questions, and talk with potential employers. Light lunch will be provided (registration is required using above link).

What’s required:

Purdue students who are working on research that uses GIS as a component in any way are invited to present. Please note that GIS does not have to be the main component of the research. The presentation should not exceed 5 minutesYour submitted abstract should not be more than 250 words.

This workshop is based on an exercise where users learn how to make maps on ArcGIS Online. That includes how to upload point data and add public layers. Interested users can even how to embed their maps in their own web applications.

This workshop will demonstrate using the ArcGIS Collector app on phone and tablet to create layers of local data on attendees ArcGIS Online maps. The collector app has optional customization options (editing the app in an SDK) that will be discussed but not practiced in this lab.
